The Cultural Revolution lasted for ten years in the People’s Republic of China (PRC). As dramatic and challenging as this period was for everyone in the country, it seemed to us that this story should not be the only one that students read about the PRC. However, when Chinese LATTICE members shared their own family stories about this period and then told us contrasting stories of their lives in the 21st century, they held our attention for hours!
